I’m running for WA-03 to create a community where everyone gets a fair shake, no matter what their background is. At one point I was the kid who got turned away at the cash register when our check bounced, the child whose medical care threw my family into debt, and the very same who later benefited from federal and state grants, which allowed me to build a path out of poverty through higher education.
There is a better way to live and it starts with compassionate yet comprehensive policies to address the crisis we’re in together; not playing into fear-based politics that’s dominated our culture for so long. Policies like affordable healthcare would ensure our communities stay healthy, introducing a wealth tax on the 1% so everyone pays their fair share, and expanding programs like SNAP to feed our families.
It is a firm belief of mine that the power of the elected office doesn’t end at making policies; it extends to leveraging that office in support of our community members, who are also in the fight for a more just country. If elected, it’s my intention to tip the scales in your favor however I’m able. There is strength in our unity and it’s time to show it.
